This cryptocurrency has helped shape the way we think about finance and the role of governments, while also allowing people to send money to each other without having to trust intermediaries like banks or governments. But what will happen to Bitcoin over the next few decades? There are many predictions out there, some more plausible than others.

Jeffrey Van de Leemput, a co-founder of Cryptocampus, a crypto mentoring group, says diversifying portfolios is the best way to prepare for bitcoin’s price fluctuations. He thinks that risky investments like bitcoin should be considered alongside other less volatile assets, like stocks and bonds. Risk tolerance is important when investing in digital assets like bitcoin because they are so volatile, he told Futurism via email. If you invest all your money into one asset and it crashes, then you could lose everything.
